Home remedies

  • Beet: Mix 100 ml each of fresh beet juice, carrot juice and cucumber juices. Take twice daily. It is an excellent cleansing agent for gall bladders.
  • Pear: Eat liberal amount of pears. It helps relieve oneself from gall bladder disorders and gallstones.
  • Chicory: Make a 30-60 ml decoction out of chicory or endive flowers, seeds or roots. Take it 3 times daily. Chicory or endives juices also help secrete bile and are also an excellent reliever of liver and gall bladder disorders.
  • Dandelion: Mix 125 ml of dandelion juice and 125 ml of watercress juice. Take twice daily along with a vegetarian diet.
  • Exclude foods that contain sugar and starch.
  • Olive and Sunflower Oil: Natural and unrefined olive and sunflower oils are excellent removal agent of gallstones. Take 30 ml of vegetable or olive oil first thing in the morning. Follow it with 120 ml of grapefruit or lemon juice. Repeat treatment procedure every morning for several days. Extend to weeks if necessary.
  • Take less refined products : excessive intake of refined carbohydrates, specifically sugar, is the primary cause of gall bladder disorders.
  • Chinese medicine relates emotional factors such as anger with gall-bladder disorders.
  • Undergo water fasting for 2-3 days for inflamed gall bladder until all symptoms subsided. Take on a fruit and vegetable juice diet consisting of beet, carrot, lemon, grape, grapefruit, and pear juices for a few days. Adapt a well balanced diet consisting of raw and cooked vegetables, fruit and vegetable juices, and a moderate amount of fruits and seeds afterwards.
  • Take 1 tablespoon of olive oil twice a day along with yogurt and cottage cheese.
  • Avoid animal fats, eggs, meat, spices condiments, pickles, coffee, sugary products, and fried, greasy and processed foods.
  • Take several small meals instead of the usual three to help ease digestion.
