Benefits and uses of Iodium are

  • Overactive Metabolism: The metabolism may work in overdrive and this creates a whole host of physical symptoms such as sunken eyes, skin and hair that are dry and flake easily, and an increased appetite with no weight gain. These can all be helped by turning to the homeopathic remedy of iodum.
  • Cough: This is a dry cough that almost feels as though it will choke the individual. There may be some sort of mucous present and there is often a rattling noise present in the chest. This may or may not be associated with a condition such as pneumonia.
  • Eating Disorders: Iodum may help with the eating disorders that include an insatiable appetite that does not produce weight gain. In fact, the opposite is true as the sufferer will display an emaciated look. Iodum assists the body in healing itself from the disorder itself as well as with the symptoms such as excessive thirst, enlarged liver, diarrhea, and even nervousness.
  • Respiratory Illness: There is often watery catarrh present in the nose and this may be associated with hay fever or may just stand alone. It can also manifest by a dry nose where the adenoids are swollen. Both hay fever and asthma can be relieved with the use of Iodum.
  • Heat Intolerance: Iodum often works well for the physical distress and excessive sweating that come about when an individual has an inability to cope with heat. This is especially true if the discomfort comes after only the slightest bit of physical exertion.
