Biotin is a water-soluble B-complex vitamin (vitamin B7). Biotin is involved in the production of energy. Available in supplement form and found naturally in a number of foods, biotin is essential for the formation of fatty acids and blood sugar (also called glucose). Sometimes referred to as "vitamin H," biotin aids in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins as well.
