Composition

Essential oil contains esters (acetate nerol), terpenes (4-15% curcumin, 4.1% pinene, limonene 10.4% kaempherol, quercetin, luteolin, linalool, geraniol). Also the plant contains hydrocarbons, flavonoids, sesquiterpenes, not -terpenoid beta-ketones

Health Benefits and Uses of Helichrysum stoechas

  • The stems and the flowers of the plant have expectorant, sudorific and laxative properties and they are used for the treatment of common cold.
  • The essential oil has healing, anti-aging, regenerating, anti-inflammatory, haemostatic and lipolytic properties. It is recommended against various skin diseases such as burns, acne, herpes, wounds, bruises and eczema.
  • the whole plant has antioxidant and carcinostatic properties due to its contents in phenolic compounds (3,5-O-dicaffeoylquinic acid, O-acetylhexoside).
