A common form of Arteriosclerosis in which deposits of yellowish plaques (atheromas) containing cholesterol, lipoid material, and lipophages are formed within the intima and inner media of large and medium-sized arteries.

Symptoms and causes

  • High amounts of bad Cholesterol in your blood could cause complications such as fatty plaque deposits, atherosclerosis, heart attack and stroke.

Home remedies

  • Sesame Seeds oil prevents the formation of atherosclerotic lesions in mice fed an atherogenic diet. The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory lignan found within sesame seeds known as sesamol has been identified to be partially responsible for its anti-atherogenic properties. In fact, sesamol has been shown to possess over two dozen beneficial pharmacologically active properties, many of which may contribute to improving cardiovascular health.
  • Nattokinase is effective to combat “Hardening of the ateries” (atherosclerosis).
  • Walnuts reduce levels of vascular cell adhesion molecules, which play a major role in the development of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries).
  • An apple a day prevents arterial hardening to reduce heart disease risk.
