Black Cohosh, or Cimicifuga Racemosa, as it is scientifically called has been widely used in Eastern Europe to treat pulmonary, circulatory and nervous system problems. Research studies have shown that it is an effective herbal alternative in lowering blood pressure and some herbalists in Russia even use this as a tonic drink for people who have problems with the central nervous system. This herbal plant is an indigenous plant in North America.
