Causes

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection appears to be a necessary factor in the development of almost all cases (90+%) of cervical cancer. HPV vaccines effective against the two strains of this large family of viruses that currently cause approximately 70% of cases of cervical cancer have been licensed in the U.S, Canada, Australia, and the EU. Since the vaccines only cover some of the cancer-causing ("high-risk") types of HPV, women should seek regular Pap smear screening, even after vaccination.

Home remedies

• papaya leaf tea is an effective remedy for cancer. A study at the University of Florida found that papaya slowed the growth of a wide variety of tumors, including those of the breast, lung, pancreas, cervix, and liver.
• Lycopene in Tangerine Tomatoes is particularly effective in fighting Breast Cancer and Prostate Cancer, Ovarian Cancer, Cervical Cancer, and Colon Cancer.
• Vitamin B9, also known as folate helps protect against cervical cancer and is necessary for the proper formation of the body’s own genetic material – DNA and RNA. It is found in beets, cabbage, dark green leafy vegetables, eggs, citrus fruits, and most types of fish.
• Vitamin B6 has helped protect against cervical cancer. Vitamin B-6 is primarily found in carrots, apples, organ meats, bananas, leafy green vegetables, and sweet potatoes.
• Basil is an effective agent against cervical cancer.
• Green Tea can specifically help prevent against ovarian, endometrial, cervical, and various other forms of gynecologic cancer.
• Berberine (e.g. in Oregon Grape) could be useful for treating cervical cancer caused by human papillomavirus, or HPV. By blocking the expression of cancer-related proteins and transcription factors in HPV-infected cervical cells, berberine targets both viral and patient factors that contribute to cervical cancer’s development and grow.
• Lycopodium (homeopathy): Recent research shows that highly diluted Lycopodium Clavatum remedies (LC-5C and LC-15C) are capable of inducing 'apoptosis' (cellular death) in cervical cancer cells, signifying their possible use as a supportive medicine in cancer therapy.
