Special Precautions of Huang Qin

  • Contraindicated for those with Deficiency Cold in the Middle Jiao.
  • Contraindicated for those with Cold diarrhea.
  • Contraindicated for those with Deficiency Heat in the Lungs.
  • Use caution for those with restless fetus due to Cold.
  • Use caution for those with Blood Deficiency with abdominal pain.
  • Use caution for those with edema due to Spleen Deficiency.
  • Use caution for those with loose stools due to Kidney Deficiency.
  • Use caution for those with amenorrhea due to Blood Deficiency.
  • Counteracts Cx. Moutan Mu Dan Pi.
  • Counteracts Rz. & Rx. Veratri Li Lu.
  • This herb may have a synergistic effect with beta-lactam antibiotics such as ampecillin, amoxicillin and cefotaxime to restore the effectiveness of these drugs against beta-lactum-resistant Staphylococces aureus and methicillin-resistant Staphylococces aureus .
