Other Name : Varicella
Cause of chicken pox is mainly because of varicella-zoster virus (VZV). About 90% of non-immune people with direct exposure to sufferers are most likely to catch the virus. VZV is communicable by both respiratory droplets (i.e. coughing, sneezing) and direct skin contact. Symptoms of chicken pox may appear as early as 10 to 21 days after exposure and onset of disease from 12 to 14 days. While chicken pox is only considered a mild disease for children, only 25% of adults are most likely to have this disease and are more prone for complications. Complications from chicken pox include skin infection, pneumonia, neurologic complications, Reye syndrome, hepatitis, kidney disease and inflammation of the testes. Chicken pox is a fairly serious illness, which at some point, is affected by diet. Therefore, diet appropriate for the condition must be observed and certain foods must be avoided to steer clear of chicken pox.

Symptoms

Symptoms of chicken pox in children a re characterized by one to two days of fever, malaise and sore throat after 2 weeks of exposure to the virus. After 24 hours, rashes will start to appear from the torso and will spread to the arms and feet after 10 days. The rash will transform into a red papule to a blister. Lesions will form over the skin. To relieve the itching effect of chicken pox, just add the ginger powder into your warm water for bathing, then take several baths per day to clear off the itching. This will stop the itching, at the same time hasten the healing procedure. Similarly, you can prepare a healthy ginger drink by adding some small chunks of ginger into a cup of water before boiling. Then strain the boiled water and drink to cure the infection.
  • Coriander and carrot soup : This is a commendable natural cure for chicken pox, that is apt to give you salient healing results within a week of its usage. To prepare the soup, you will be required to get about 60 grams of coriander leaves and 100 grams of fresh carrots. Slice the carrots into small pieces, and cut the coriander leaves into fine pieces before boiling them shortly. Strain the solution and drink the soup for at least once per day. You can also eat the remaining part of boiled coriander leaves and carrots to gain some strengths and more nutrients.
  • Honey is more than just a natural sweetener; as it also well endowed with several medicinal properties one of which includes their ability to cure chicken pox. Besides, it is one of the main curative for chicken pox since ancient times, and it is still used by hordes who know the value of natural treatments. Just take pure honey and use it to coat all the rash spots. This will relieve you from the itching effect of chicken pox as well as speed up your healing procedure.   • Oatmeal has efficient anti-inflammatory properties that can be helpful in relieving one from the symptoms of chicken pox.   • Marigold flower and Hazel leaves: Mix two tablespoons of marigold flower with two tea spoons of hazel leaves, then put the mixture into a cup of water and leave it to stay for at least 6 hours. Take the solution and grind the course pieces properly before applying the paste on the rashes. This natural treatment for chicken pox will guarantee your healing within a week. In addition, this remedy is also appropriate in relieving you from the itching effects of chicken pox.
  • Homeopathy:
    • If you recognize the chickenpox early on, give aconite. This will bring it to an end very quickly, without compromising the immunity benefits of getting chickenpox.
    • Then there are some other remedies you can give, but the main one I’ll mention here is rhus tox. Rhus tox is good for alleviating the itching, and I’m giving the two older kids rhus tox 30x (3 times a day for 48 hours).
