Other Names : Ephelides
Freckles are flat, tanned circular spots that typically are the size of the head of a common nail. The spots are multiple and may develop randomly on the skin, especially after repeated exposure to sunlight. These are particularly common in people of fair complexion on upper-body skin areas like the cheeks, nose, arms, and upper shoulders. They may appear on people as young as 1 or 2 years of age.
See also :

* Aloe Vera contains active compounds, including aloin and aloesin, which have both been found to effectively lighten hyperpigmentation, including sunspots. There’s a small amount of scientific evidence suggesting that applying aloe vera to your skin may help reduce the appearance of hyperpigmented areas, though it won’t completely get rid of these darker spots.
*Sesame Seeds : For this remedy you will need equal amount of sesame seeds and turmeric. Mix both the ingredients together and grind them properly by adding little water to make a smooth paste. Apply this paste on the affected skin area. Leave it for ten to fifteen minutes and then rinse it off with cold water. Make this a daily routine and soon your freckles will fade away.
* Rubia Cordifolia can be used both internally and externally to promote skin glow and lustre. It also helps remove pimples, freckles, other discolorations, and promotes the healing of skin tissues damaged by injury or infection.
* Several studies have been conducted to identify inhibitors from both natural and synthetic sources, and a number of research papers have been published and regularly updated in this aspect. This study was conducted as a means of identifying plant-based skin lightening alternatives to the current toxic substances. Despite the serious and life-threatening complications associated with the chronic use of these products, the use of skin lighteners is still a widespread and common practice in several African countries. All plants identified in this study showed competent antimelanogenesis and antityrosinase capabilities, with the most effective of the extracts being the following: Acacia nilotica, Cassipourea congoensis, Cassipourea flanaganii, Garcinia kola, Greyia flanaganii, Greyia radlkoferi, Hyaenanche globosa, Myrsine africana, Ormocarpum trichocarpum, Plectranthus ecklonii, Protea madiensis, Rorippa nasturtium-aquaticum, Serruria furcellata, Sesamum angolense, and Vachellia karroo. The reproducibility of the identified studies and interpretation of the results is limited by the inconsistencies in methodologies and means of plant extraction in these studies. Other variables also include geographical location and varied climate regions.
Warnings
Anyone who has one or more uncertain pigmented spots should have their physician or dermatologist evaluate them. Even verbal descriptions and photographs cannot convey enough information for satisfactory self-diagnosis. As always, it is better to be safe than sorry. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends a full-body skin examination for adults as part of a routine annual health exam. It is important to have any new, changing, bleeding mole or growth examined by your physician or dermatologist as soon as possible. Skin cancers are curable if diagnosed and treated at an early stage.==references==https://www.mdpi.com/2079-9284/7/3/60/htm
