Ozonated olive oil was discovered quite by accident in the early 1900s, when breathing ozone through oil was used to treat tuberculosis. After many treatments the olive oil turned into a gel and seemed to hold ozone for a long time, making it a great salve used for a variety of ailments. Famous inventor Nikola Tesla was the first to market it, and as early as 1904 it was being sold in pharmacies all over the country under the name Glycozone.
Ozonated oils are plant oils that are either completely saturated with ozone or lightly saturated. The saturation of the oil is done by bubbling ozone through various oils (olive, coconut, grape seed, etc), in an ozone-safe container (glass). When the ozone passes through the oil it is changed. A new gaseous substance is formed normally referred to as terpene gas. Unlike pure ozone, terpene is safe to breathe and terpene has been used for a variety of ailments including asthma, bronchitis, tuberculosis, etc. The process of creating fully ozonated oil continues until instead of terpene gas coming off the oil, you get pure raw ozone (meaning the oil will not hold any more ozone). The texture of the oil changes, often getting solid or waxy (depending on the temperature). This process can take quite awhile (weeks with a normal unit) or less time if you run parallel units. Oils hold quite a bit of ozone, so bringing them to saturation takes some time. The reaction results in a small amount of ozone, but more of a peroxide/ozonide being created and stored in the oil.

Part of the broad appeal of ozonated oil is that unlike ozone in the air or water, which lasts 6 to 45 minutes, ozone in oil can last 10 or more years if properly stored. Add to this benefit the fact that you can easily apply ozonated oil on hard to reach places (unlike a gas), and you understand its true potential and power.
Below you see the amount of ozone held by each of the products. The ozone is measured in molecular weight. The higher the weight listed below, the more ozone/peroxide it is carrying, and therefore the more powerful its benefits. The amount of fatty acids present in each type of oil before ozonation limits how much ozone it will hold. The higher the fatty acids, the more ozone the oil holds.

Molecular Weight of Ozone in Product:

  • Hemp Seed >16gm per 100ml
  • Olive >13gm per 100ml
  • Sunflower >13gm per 100ml
  • Grape Seed > 9gm per 100ml
  • Macadamia > 7gm per 100ml
  • Coconut > 3gm per 100ml

Special Precautions of Ozonated Oil

Do not put ozonated oils in the eyes.

Benefits and uses of Ozonated Oil are

Ozonated oils offer a low cost and portable form of ozone/oxygen therapy. They also are able to treat hard to reach areas. As with all forms of ozone/oxygen therapy, it has no real toxicity. Ozonated oils deliver oxygen therapy to the skin. Ozonated oil in the household can replace a cabinet full of medical supplies, because of its broad spectrum of healing & germicidal effects. You can replace your burn cream, your fungal cream, your Neosporin, your acne cream, your beauty cream and your facial cream. Unlike most treatments, Ozone actually treats the cause of the problems, not just the symptom. The list of uses for ozonated oil is quite large. Virtually any skin condition, uses on the gums for periodontal problems/disease, sexual lubricant, jock itch, fistulae, fungal problems, beauty cream, dandruff and age spots. The list gets longer as people experiment and find it to work wonders for man and beast.

  • Ozonated Hemp Seed : Highest of all the oils ozonated in therapeutic value. Very thick, semi liquid in the refrigerator, thick liquid at room temperature. This oil is very “sticky” and absorbs slowly into the skin so it is ideal for wound dressings or for oral surgery recovery. Two recent studies have shown that ozonated olive oil when used for gingivital lesions and periodontal abscesses improved healing dramatically. We suspect healing time would be even less if ozonated hemp seed oil were used. This oil has a very distinctive hemp oil taste that may be objectionable compared to other ozonated oils. One remarkable quality of this ozonated oil is that it is practically waterproof when applied to dry skin because of it's stickiness. It will remain on the skin in extreme aquatic conditions to provide antimicrobial protection where other ozonated oils will not. We do not recommend this oil for use on the face or scalp as it is very sticky and slow to absorb. If used on the body it is best to be covered with gauze.
  • Ozonated olive oil : is a gel that can last for 10 years if kept refrigerated or around one year at room temperature. It is known to destroy bacteria, viruses, fungi, some parasites, venoms and poisons through oxidation, and helps stimulate new cell production through oxygenation. Doctors have reported that ozonated oil speeds the postoperative healing process by improving blood flow, reducing inflammation, preventing infection and reducing pain. Used for : Acne, Athlete's Foot, Bacterial Infections, Bed Sores, Blackheads, Bruises, Carbuncles, Cold Sores, Cuts and Wounds, Dandruff, Dermatitis, Eczema, Diaper Rash, Fungal Infections, Impetigo, Insect Bites, Fistulae, Gingivitis; Herpes Simplex, Hemorrhoids, Leg Ulcers, Shingles, Sunburn, Ringworm, Psoriasis, Wrinkles, Age Spots, Spider Bites, Burns And more.
  • Ozonated Sunflower Oils have also become a lot more popular recently because of availability and cost. It is like a thick, viscous liquid, making it more suitable in situations where a liquid is preferred to a gel. Extensive research is being done on this oil in Russia and Cuba. Sunflower. Tied with olive in therapeutic value, hard gel when refrigerated, soft gel to thick liquid at room temperature. Texture is somewhat “greasy” when used on the skin and absorption is slow into the skin. For this reason this oil is best used in the mouth on the gums and in perio pockets or for wound bandaging
  • Ozonated Grape Seed Oil : Fourth in therapeutic value, soft gel consistency when refrigerated, semi liquid at room temperature. This oil is great oil for facial use since it absorbs quickly and still has good therapeutic value. Can be used interchangeably for ozonated olive oil in all applications if a smoother texture is desired. Mild ozone aroma.
  • Ozonated Macadamia Oil : Fifth in therapeutic value, hard gel consistency when refrigerated, soft gel at room temp. Perhaps even smoother and more absorbable than grape seed oil, this oil is wonderful for the face and also can be used interchangeably for ozonated olive oil where smoother texture and absorbability are concerns. Pleasant aroma. This is Wendy's favorite for a night creme on her face.
  • Ozonated Coconut Oil : Least therapeutic of all our ozonated oils, very hard consistency when refrigerated, semi hard at room temp, liquid above 28 degrees C. Where this oil lacks in therapeutic value, it makes it up for it in its moisturizing abilities, its absorbability and its texture. This oil is great for dry skin in any season and it smells good too.
  • Ozonated Jojoba Oil is less common but rising in popularity. Jojoba's chemical makeup is very close to human sebum, making it very desirable as a skin cream. It becomes a creamy gel when ozonated, and it's used for anti-aging, beauty and dry skin. Ozonated jojoba helps deeply hydrate and heal sensitive skins.
  • ozonated tea tree oil : good natural topical remedy for tinea.
  • ozonated neem salve : good natural topical remedy for tinea.
