  • Propolis has been reported to be effective in the treatment of Tuberculosis.
  • Usnea : Effective against a bacterium that commonly causes pneumonia and pertussis. Unlike most modern antibiotics which disrupt the structure of a cell, this lichen prevents the metabolism of gram positive bacteria such as Streptococcus, Staphylococcus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is particularly effective for hot, irritable, wet coughs.
  • Vitamin D prevents and treats tuberculosis with significantly speed recovery time.
  • Cod Liver Oil, which is rich in vitamin D, is still an effective treatment for tuberculosis.
  • Heliotherapy has been around for centuries as a treatment for tuberculosis.
  • Eucalyptus : Research from the University of Illinois’ College of Pharmacy has found that eucalyptus essential oil can be used to stop the spread of tuberculosis from those who are contagious.
  • Elecampane : Inula helenium was traditionally used to treat the cough of pulmonary tuberculosis. Research has shown that the volatile oil is active against the tubercle bacillus. The volatile oil stimulates the mucociliary escalator and circulation, while the saponins stimulate the removal of mucus from the lungs.
  • Artemisia annua : artemisinin is capable of blocking a defensive mechanism used by the TB-causing bacterium, Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb).
  • Fragrant Premna Tree : Leaf decoction has been used for tuberculosis. "Kochoi," a local patent preparation, is claimed to benefit tuberculosis.
  • Dandelion combined with other active remedies has been used in cases of dropsy and for induration of the liver, and also on the Continent for phthisis and some cutaneous diseases.
  • Mullein : An infusion of mullein leaves prepared by boiling 1 oz. of leaves in a pint of milk for 10 minutes, straining it and drinking it warm three times a day may help manage phthisis, a form of systemic tuberculosis.
  • TCM : a traditional Chinese medicine composition for curing phthisis and tuberculous pleurisy. The composition is prepared from the following raw materials: 8-15g of American ginseng, 5-8g of ginseng, 20-30g of radix astragali, 5-8g of pearls, 5-7g of walnuts, 20-30g of herba epimedii, 5-7g of toad oil, 2-3g of Chinese caterpillar fungus, 15-25g of flax, 5-10g of hide glue, 20-30g of mulberry, 10-20g of lilium brownie, 5-15g of burdock and 2-3g of multifloral honey
