In 1890, British homeopath Dr. Compton Burnett proved the homeopathic remedy called tuberculinum, which is made from dead tuberculosis bacilli.

Special Precautions of Tuberculinum

  • Only homeopathic use !
  • Do not take homeopathic remedies without first consulting a homeopathic practitioner. Do not take several remedies at the same time as that is often discouraged in homeopathic treatment. Take the recommended dose only and immediately report any changes in condition to your doctor.

Benefits and uses of Tuberculinum are

  • Colds: Tuberculinum usually works best when there is a chest cold present with yellow catarrh, a fever, and aching muscles. Generally tuberculinum is effective as a homeopathic remedy if there is also a sore throat and runny or watery eyes.
  • Coughs and Acute Bronchitis: This is the type of cough that is dry and is accompanied by a fever. There may even be pain felt in the lungs, and the lymph glands in the neck are enlarged. If bronchitis is present, there is often a shortness of breath, wheezing, and a persistent and painful cough.
  • Hay Fever: People who suffer from the common runny nose with sneezing, congestion, and watery eyes tend to get the most help from tuberculinum as a homeopathic remedy.
  • Arthritic Pains: Those who suffer from aching joint and limb pain that move from one part of the body to another turn to this homeopathic remedy. The joints tend to get tired easily and are sore or restless a majority of the time.
  • Neurotic Behavior: This is as much a mental symptom as it is a physical one. There is a strong feeling of discontent whereby the individual can’t ever seem to get settled. They may feel that they are never fulfilled, and they shape their behaviors accordingly. This can evolve into malicious or destructive behavior, and tuberculinum works as a homeopathic remedy for all of the associated symptoms.

Profile Type

The type of person that benefits the most from tuberculinum as a homeopathic remedy tends to be very intense in nature. They have a constant sense of yearning meaning they are constantly looking for stimulation and a way to make necessary changes. This thought process and behavior may involve changing partners or jobs quite frequently. The person that fits this profile and can benefit from the use of tuberculinum as a homeopathic remedy tends to be destructive in their behavior, oftentimes because they are working towards a means of fulfilling their need to constantly change things.
