* colon cancer : Researchers from the Institute of Biochemistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem tested the extracted chemicals, called alpha-glucans, on human and mice cells. They haven't yet conducted human trials, but believe that alpha-glucans show the potential to be used to both prevent and treat colon cancer.
