Other Names : KP, follicular keratosis, lichen pilaris, colloquially "chicken skin<br>Keratosis pilaris (KP) is a very common skin disorder affecting many people , autosomal dominant, genetic follicular condition characterized by the appearance of all ages. Keratosis pilaris is a benign condition that presents as numerous small, rough, slightly red, or tan bumps primarily around hair follicles on light skin and brown bumps on darker skin.[1] It most often appears on the back, outer sides of the upper armsarm (though the forearm can also be affected), legsface, thighs, and buttocks;[1] KP can also occur on the hands, and sometimes cheeks. Keratosis pilaris creates a "goose bumpstops of legs," "goosefleshsides," or "chicken any body part except glabrous skin" appearance on (like the skinpalms or soles of feet).
