Diverse biological activities viz. feline attractant, canineattractant, insect repellant and arthropod defense are accredited to the presence of biologicallyactive iridoids/monoterpene nepetalactones in Nepeta species .* reported to be used locally for fevers and sore throat* an infusion of the seeds is used for dysentery.
