Special Precautions of Xie Bai
- Contraindicated for those with Qi Deficiency without Stagnation.
- Contraindicated for those with a weak Stomach.
- Contraindicated for those with an intolerance of garlic or onions.
- Use very little for those with Yin Deficiency or fevers.
- Do not use long term in cases with peptic ulcers.
- Use with caution for patients taking anticoagulants such as heparin, warfarin (Coumadin) and enoxaparin (Lovenox) or antiplatelet drugs such as aspirin, dipyridamole (Persantine) and clopidogrel (Plavix) as concurrent use may have an additive or synergistic effect.

- Unblocks Yang Qi, disperses turbid Phlegm, alleviates pain, disperses hardenings and disperses Cold Phlegm : Damp-Cold painful obstruction of the chest due to Cold, turbid Phlegm Stagnation preventing the flow of Yang Qi with chest, flank, or upper back pain, dyspnea, cough, wheezing and a stifling sensation in the chest
- Descends Qi, reduces Stagnation and stops diarrhea : Damp Stagnation in the Large Intestine associated with dysenteric disorders
