* menopause : The health benefits of red clover extend especially to women undergoing menopause - red clover has been used for many years as a remedy for the symptoms of menopause. According to researchers, this effect is due to the isoflavones, a form of phytoestrogens (water-soluble plant chemicals which act like estrogens), which are present in red clover. Among the symptoms which can be alleviated include hot flashes and mood swings.
* Cancer : Red clover’s claim has been backed up by the National Cancer Institute. The NCI has confirmed that this herb boasts of not one, not two, but four compounds, such as genistein and daidzein, which fight off tumor. * [[Prostate Cancer]] : Red clover isoflavones at 25.0 microg/ml induced the apoptosis of the prostate stromal cells.
* In addition, it also contains [[Vitamin E]] in the form of Tocopherol which is a very potent antioxidant known to help fight cancer as well as heart disease.
* Red clover also contain important nutrients such as [[vitamin C]], thiamine, potassium, phosphorus, niacin, magnesium, chromium and calcium. Isoflavones, another form of antioxidant, can also be found in red clover.
