α-Glucans (alpha-glucans) are polysaccharides of D-glucose monomers linked with glycosidic bonds of the alpha form.

Benefits and uses of Alpha glucan are
- colon cancer : Researchers from the Institute of Biochemistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem tested the extracted chemicals, called alpha-glucans, on human and mice cells. They haven't yet conducted human trials, but believe that alpha-glucans show the potential to be used to both prevent and treat colon cancer.
