Other Names : 桑杏湯 sāng xìng tāng, "Mulberry Leaf and Apricot Kernel Decoction"

Ingredients :

Special Precautions of Sang Xing Tang

  • This formula contains one or more toxic substances (while some Chinese herbs are toxic, it must be noted that many come prepared, or are combined, to mitigate their toxicity).
  • Contraindicated in cases with injury to the yin.

Benefits and uses of Sang Xing Tang are

  • Formulas that Gently Disperse and Moisten Dryness
  • Moderate fever, headache, thirst, dry hacking cough or one with scanty thick and sticky sputum, red tongue with a thin dry and white coat, floating rapid pulse (esp. on the right)
  • Upper respiratory tract infection, pharyngitis, pertussis, bronchitis, and bronchiectasis
