For decades, the American Cancer Society has known that broccoli and other cruciferous veggies, like cauliflower and watercress seem to lower cancer risk. Research shows that cauliflower eaters have lower rates of cancer than people who don’t eat this vegetable. It contains sulforaphane, which according to researchers at John Hopkins University School of Medicine, stimulates the body’s production of cancer-fighting enzymes particularly with respect to the following types of cancer: bladder cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and ovarian cancer.
