Special Precautions of Baptisia

  • Only homeopathic use !
  • Don't confuse with Tephrosia Purpurea which is also called Wild Indigo.
  • Do not take homeopathic remedies without first consulting a homeopathic practitioner. Do not take several remedies at the same time as that is often discouraged in homeopathic treatment. Take the recommended dose only and immediately report any changes in condition to your doctor.
  • Wild indigo is UNSAFE when taken by mouth or applied to the skin. Large doses can cause vomiting, diarrhea, other intestinal problems, and spasms.

The benefits of Baptisia are

Baptisia is an acute remedy for cases of quickly arising infections and inflammations, leading to critical situations within several days. Think of it in cases of serious flu with fever, typhoid or typhus.

  • Acute Fever: This type of fever is high and often comes on without any warning. The face may be flushed and the tongue may be coated or even discolored. Those that look to baptisia as a homeopathic remedy have an extreme fever that can often leave you feeling lethargic and the body can feel stiff and heavy.
  • Throat Infections: This is not just a common sore throat; though it can start out that way. In this instance, the throat is sore, but so are the gums and the lips. The tonsils tend to be swollen and there are often ulcers or little sores throughout the throat that contribute to or even cause all of the pain and burning. It may become difficult to swallow food with this type of throat infection.
  • Intestinal Infections: Though an individual may not even realize that they have an actual infection of the intestines, there are very extreme and easily identifiable symptoms. People find that baptisia works best as a homeopathic remedy for terrible bouts of diarrhea, a fever, and even a bit of delirium. They usually have a coated tongue and the stools tend be foul smelling. In extreme circumstances, there may be blood in the stools or even a rash on the abdomen.
  • Septic Conditions: There is often a very bad odor associated with any of the symptoms of this condition. There may be foul smelling ulcers in the mouth and throat, and perhaps the urine. The symptoms and the odor sets in very quickly and may lead to other problems such as fatigue, stupor, and in extreme circumstances, even miscarriage in pregnant women.

Profile Type

There isn’t necessarily one type of personality that benefits the most from using baptisia as a homeopathic remedy, but there are usually some very identifiable symptoms or characteristics. Due to the fever, these individuals may suffer from confusion, delirium, or may even seem drunk and in a stupor. They often suffer from nightmares and delirium, and may fall asleep during conversations.
