4 bytes added, 08:45, 13 July 2014
The homeopathic remedy avena is derived from the common oat (botanical name Avena sativa) plant. The common oat is a species of an edible grain that is cultivated for its seeds. Although oats are consumed by humans as oatmeal as well as rolled oats, a major and most common use of this cereal grain is food for livestock. In fact, oats comprise an important part of horse's daily diet - approximately 20 per cent of the daily food intake of horses comprises oats. In addition, oats form a regular food for the cattle. Moreover, some brands of dog food as well as chicken feed also contain varying percentage of oats. For cat enthusiasts, oat seeds are usually marketed in the form of cat grass. This is primarily because cats willingly harvest as well as consume young oat, wheat as well as different other grass sprouts.<br>
