Health Benefits and Uses of Cleome serrulata

  • In traditional Native American and frontier medicine, an infusion of the plant is used to treat stomach troubles and fevers, and poultices made from it can be used on the eyes.
  • Young leaves were an important food source to Pueblo Indians.
  • Dried leaves were used as a deodorant, and a poultice made to heal wounds, sore eyes, and stomach disorders.
