Other Names : Bambusa vulgaris, Bambusa Arundinacea . Arundinaceus means 'reed-like' in Latin, which of course refers to the reed-like appearance of the bamboo plant. Young bamboo shoots are used in Chinese and Indian cuisine. Bamboo is native to China, Pakistan and India. There are several types of bamboo, but only Bambusa Arundinacea has traditionally been used for its healing powers against various bone and joint disorders. It is a tropical, fast-growing plant; the stems can grow 20 centimeters per day and eventually reach 10 to 40 meters high.
