Ingredients

  • Ji Zi Huang : Chicken Egg Yolks : 2 yolks
    Nourishes Yin and subdues Wind, especially Internal Wind.
  • E Jiao : Colla Corii Asini : 6-10g
    Tonifies Blood and nourishes Yin. With Gui Ban and Mu Li, for Muscular spasms and contractures due to Yin Deficiency. With Zhi Gan Cao, Mai Men Dong and Bai Shao, for Yin Deficiency with chronic, unremitting low-grade fever, five-sole-Heat and an irregular pulse.
  • Bai Shao : Rx. Paeoniae Alba : 9-18g : Nourishes the Blood, astringes Yin, calms Liver Yang and Liver Wind and alleviates pain. With Zhi Gan Cao, and Wu Wei Zi, nourishes Yin and softens the Liver.
  • Zhi Gan Cao : Rx. Glycyrrhizae Preparata : 3-12g
    Moderates spasms, alleviates pain and moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs. With Bai Shao, moderates spasms and alleviates pain, for painful spasms of the leg or abdomen.
  • Wu Wei Zi :Fr. Schisandrae : 6-9g
    Tonifies the Kidneys, astringes Jing and sweat and generates fluids. With Mu Li, for sweating.
  • Sheng Di Huang : Rx. Rehmanniae : 10-18g
    Clears Heat, cools the Blood, nourishes Yin and generates Fluids. With E Jiao, for Heat from Deficiency. With Bai Shao, for Blood Deficiency Heat.
  • Mai Men Dong : Rx. Ophiopogonis : 10-18g
    Nourishes Yin and moistens the Lungs and Stomach. With Sheng Di Huang, for hematemesis or epistaxis due to Yin Deficiency with Excess Heat.
  • Huo Ma Ren : Sm. Cannabis : 6-9g
    Nourishes Yin and moistens Dryness. With Sheng Di Huang and Mai Men Dong, for Yin Deficiency with constipation.

  • Bie Jia : Carapax Trionycis : 9-12g
    Nourishes Yin, anchors Yang, invigorates the Blood and heavily anchors, descends, unblocks and facilitates the functions of the Blood vessels. With Gui Ban, calms the Liver, subdues Yang and extinguishes Wind to treat vertigo and tinnitus associated with Yin Deficiency with Yang Rising and deficient Wind moving internally. With Gui Ban, Bai Shao and Sheng Di Huang, for extreme injury to Yin leading to internal stirring of Liver Wind and tremors. With Bai Shao, Sheng Di Huang, E Jiao and Mai Men Dong, for Liver Wind.

    Calms the Liver, benefits Yin and sedates Yang. With Gui Ban, Bie Jia and Bai Shao, for movement of Liver Wind after a febrile disease manifesting as tremors and spasms. With Sheng Di Huang and Bie Jia, for Internal stirring of Wind from Deficiency.
