Special Precautions of Jin Ying Zi

  • It shouldn’t be used in the cases of accompanied neurasthenia, insomnia, night sweats, excess fire, and pathogenic heat.
  • Contraindicated for those with Excess pathogenic influences, especially Heat.
  • Contraindicated for those with Blazing Fire from Yin Deficiency with incontinence of urine or spermatorrhea.
  • Overdose or long term use may cause abdominal pain or constipation.
  • Cucumber and pork liver are not allowed when this herb is being taken.
  • Since it is rich in vitamin C, side effects related to vitamin C would occur if taken in overdose.
