(Poly for polynucleotide reductase and MVA = mineral, vitamins and amino acids) is a nontoxic antioxidant liquid formula composed of alpha lipoic acid and the element palladium.

Special Precautions of PolyMVA

  • The potential risks and side effects of Poly-MVA are not known, as no results from human studies have been reported. Palladium compounds have the potential to cause allergic reactions in some people. Because lipoic acid is a powerful antioxidant, Poly-MVA may make radiation therapy or chemotherapy less effective. While this concern is based largely on theories of how cancer treatments work, it is supported by some recent studies. For this reason, people being treated for cancer should speak with their doctors before taking this supplement. Relying on this type of treatment alone and avoiding or delaying conventional medical care for cancer, may have serious health consequences.
  • These are restrictions for using Poly-MVA:
    • NO alpha lipoic acid (ALA or LA) supplementation in high doses above 400mg.
    • Limit Vitamin C supplementation to 10,000mg a day. If using higher doses, separate the Poly-MVA and the Vitamin C by six (6) hours. This includes multivitamins and other supplements which may have Vitamin C added to them. The Vitamin C in foods is not a problem.
  • Consult your doctor before using any presented information as a form of treatment. Use alternative cancer treatments as a supplement to treatments you receive from your doctor — not as a substitute for medical care. Apply the treatment only under control of an expert.

The benefits of PolyMVA are

Poly-MVA is a compound that contains various minerals, vitamins, and amino acids such as lipoic acid, palladium, B 12, and other B complex vitamins. It is promoted as a nutritional supplement that is a nontoxic alternative to chemotherapy. Because it is said to be able to cross the blood brain barrier, this product is usually used with brain tumors, but it is said to be effective against tumors in the brain, lung, ovaries, and breast, and that it boosts the immune system, reduces pain, and helps people regain energy and appetite. It is considered a powerful antioxidant that can turn the toxins released by cancer into energy. According to its manufacturers, the compound attacks cancerous cells and protects DNA and RNA. They contend that the lipoic acid allows the various minerals, vitamins, and amino acids to be easily absorbed into the system where they can kill cancerous cells.
However available scientific evidence does not support claims that Poly-MVA is effective in preventing or treating cancer. The makers of Poly-MVA claim it has a history of "over forty years of laboratory research and testing and fifteen years of clinical use." However, reports of Poly-MVA's effectiveness are anecdotal or small studies that have not been confirmed or published in scientific journals.
No studies of Poly-MVA in humans have been published in peer-reviewed medical journals. Thus far, the only study published in a peer-reviewed journal was an animal study using gerbils, which explored the possible effects of Poly-MVA in protecting nerve cells from lack of oxygen.
