Benefits and uses of Red Vine Leaf are

  • Red vine leaf extract has been used for many years to help maintain healthy leg circulation. The complex mixture of flavanoids found in the leaves may also strengthen and repair weakened or thinning vein walls. By aiding blood circulation, the extract may ease or prevent the discomfort of aching, tired or swollen legs which result from standing or sitting for long periods of time. It may also assist with overcoming night time leg muscle cramps.
  • A 12-week study on outpatients aged between 25 and 75 was carried out to test the effects of red vine leaf extract on participants with stage one to stage two chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). Patients were either given a small dose (360mg) or a high dose (720mg) daily and the results confirmed both were safe and effective in the treatment of mild CVI. Red vine leaf extract reduced CVI symptoms including lower leg edema, a swelling caused by fluid retention. Those taking the higher dosage showed greater and a more sustained improvement.
