Sang Xing Tang

Other Names : 桑杏湯 sāng xìng tāng, "Mulberry Leaf and Apricot Kernel Decoction"

Ingredients :

• Sang Ye (folium mori albae)…3g
• Zhi Zi (fructus gardeniae jasminoidis)…3g
• Dan Dou Chi (semen sojae praeparata)…3g
• Xing Ren (semen pruni armeniacae)…4.5g
• Zhe Bei Mu (bulbus fritillariae thunbergii)…3g
• Bei Sha Shen (Radix Glehniae Littoralis)
• Sha Shen (radix adenophorae seu glehniae)…6g
• Li Pi (fructus pyri)…3g

Special Precautions of Sang Xing Tang

• This formula contains one or more toxic substances (while some Chinese herbs are toxic, it must be noted that many come prepared, or are combined, to mitigate their toxicity).
• Contraindicated in cases with injury to the yin.

• Formulas that Gently Disperse and Moisten Dryness
• Moderate fever, headache, thirst, dry hacking cough or one with scanty thick and sticky sputum, red tongue with a thin dry and white coat, floating rapid pulse (esp. on the right)
