Osteoarthritis is a form of arthritis that features the breakdown and eventual loss of the cartilage of one or more joints. Osteoarthritis is abbreviated as OA or referred to as degenerative arthritis or degenerative joint disease (DJD). Osteoarthritis commonly affects the hands, feet, spine, and large weight-bearing joints, such as the hips and knees. Osteoarthritis usually has no known cause and is referred to as primary osteoarthritis. When the cause of the osteoarthritis is known, the condition is referred to as secondary osteoarthritis. Home remedies

  • Combination of Turmeric + Harpagophytum + Horsetail
  • Follow an anti-inflammatory diët
  • Rose Hip powder provides "robust" anti-inflammatory responses and reduce the catabolic processes found in osteoarthritis.
  • French Pine Bark is used for treating osteoarthritis and joint pain.
  • white willow bark may have a moderate pain-reducing effect on osteoarthritis patients.
  • Boswellia is used to treat Joint Pain and Osteoarthritis.
  • Guggul may help reduce symptoms of osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee.
  • Strontium : There's some evidence that strontium may benefit people with osteoarthritis. For example, a 2011 study published in the journal Climacteric found that strontium ranelate may help slow the progression of osteoarthritis.
  • Palmitoylethanolamide restores balance in chronic pain and chronic inflammation.
  • MSM (methyl-sulfonyl methane) delivers the same pain relief as popular over-the-counter arthritis painkillers—but without the serious and potentially fatal health risks.
  • Chondroitin and Glucosamine are frequently taken to keep joints healthy and to ease joint pain that may occur from osteoarthritis or trauma.
  • Frankincense is used in traditional medicines to treat inflammatory disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and Crohn's disease. AKBA (3-0-acetyl-keto-beta-boswellic acid) is one of the active ingredients in frankincense and has anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Physical therapy : Various types of physical therapy may help, including:
    • Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS): A TENS unit attaches to the skin with electrodes. Electrical currents then pass from the unit through the skin and overwhelm the nervous system, reducing its ability to transmit pain signals.
    • Thermotherapy: Heat and cold may help reduce pain and stiffness in the joints. A person could try wrapping a hot water bottle or an ice pack in a towel and placing it on the affected joint.
    • Manual therapy: This involves a physical therapist using hands-on techniques to help keep the joints flexible and supple
